Athanasia Landis is the former mayor of the Village of Fredonia. She’s a physician with residencies in Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine. She has lived in the Village for over 30 years with her husband Andrew and their 5 children Dimitra, Dimitri, Constantinos, Alexandros and Fotini, who all grew up here. Dr. Andrew Landis is a local physician with a successful practice and is a well-known member of the community. Dimitra is finishing her radiology residency at the end of this year while Dimitri is a chiropractor with a thriving practice here in Fredonia. During her 4 years in office Athanasia Landis successfully:

• Brought millions of dollars to the Village

• initiated a study of, and plans for, the water treatment plant

• fixed a 12 year old brown water problem for residents on 6 Village streets

• worked in partnership with SUNY Fredonia, the county, and New York State

• created strong working relationships with village employees

• was in her office at Village Hall every day

• put together a proposal to bring a brand new, critically necessary hospital to Fredonia
